They are expressions of folk which contain wisdom, truth, morals, experience, lessons and advice concerning life which have been handed down form generation to generation. African heritage is kept in numerous proverbs, they reflect the ancient and vital knowledge that every person should be aware of. African proverbs are the pride of African culture.
