The power, ingenuity and sheer beauty found in nature has always fascinated mankind. Mighty trees in vast forests inspire feelings of insignificance and awe. Animal mothers taking care of their young make us question the cruelty with which we sometimes treat one another. The truth is, nature can teach us many valuable lessons.

Africa straddles the equator which bestows a rich diversity of wildlife and landscapes on the world's second largest continent.Large predators roam the sweeping savannas among huge herds of grazing herbivores, while snakes,apes and monkeys inhabit its dark, dense forest, widely regarded as the place where human life originated. Africa is home to many of the world's best loved and most fascinating animals as well as to some of its most endangered.  

PROVERBS ARE NEVER OUT OF SEASON

Proverbs are the backbone of the African society. They are expressions of folk which contain wisdom, truth, morals, experience, lessons and advice concerning life which have been handed down form generation to generation. African heritage is kept in numerous proverbs, they reflect the ancient and vital knowledge that every person should be aware of. African proverbs are the pride of African culture.

ASPECT OF UBUNTU AMONG AFRICANS

"Umuntu ngumuntu ngabantu". None of us come into this world fully formed. Without other people, we would not know how to think, talk , speak or behave as human beings. We need other human beings in order for us to be human. Ubuntu embellishes cultural beliefs and values and is the essence of being human....... SPIRIT OF UBUNTU......

With guns they came With whips and chains  Chains to capture the dark continent  Africa a precious jewel  Jewel coveted by imperialists  Jewel stained with blood  Do not fear the past  It is painful But it is real  Blood was spilt and people died But love and unity survived  THE AFRICAN NATION .......

SIGNIFICANCE OF CHILDREN AMONG AFRICAN PEOPLE

The African society is structured largely around the lives of its children. Across the continent, children represent continuity. Rituals and contemporary institutions are designed to ensure children's survival and prosperity.The birth of a child was highly valued in the African societies. Children were seen to strengthen marriages and most importantly,children raised their parents' dignity and status in society.......

TRADITIONAL MARRIGE IN AFRICAN COMMUNITIES

Marriage in African cultures, from the East to West,South to North were one of the most significant and sacred rites of passage. Marriage was the most celebrated ceremony in all African cultures. African marriages were a spiritual and social family affair,they had no room for divorce. It involved the combining of two individuals, two families, two communities and most importantly two ancestral groups.
